It's Time!

Hey everyone. Can you believe it? It is time to get this missions comedy fundraising tour up to speed for 2010. Made my first cold call today to a church in Fresno. My prayer is that they will catch the vision. What about you? Are you in?

2010!

Yes it's time to think about 2010. Last July we raised and received commitments for about $30,0o0. Not bad for a first time. We're already planning for 2010. Instead of July, June will be the target month. Why? It seems like a lot of churches would have been able to participate had we gone sooner as they were actually on missions trips in July. We are also adding a second comedian - Amy Barnes. http://www.amyisfunny.com

Now there are two choices for your comedy fundraisers. We also hope to do twice as many events as our goal for 2010 is to raise $100,000 for missions! We are excited about the possibilities of partnering with Larry Jones and Feed the Children. And of course we welcome anyone who wants to see the world reached for Jesus Christ. Stay tuned. Blessings - Jerry

The Final Checks Are in!

The total raised and pledged for global missions from the 31 Shows Tour - $26670.48! Praise God. We sent pastors to Cuba, underprivileged children to camp, helped with the cell church, inspired teens, put food on a missionary's table and sent money to the orphanage...and that's just to name a few. All the churches blessed us with their hospitality and encouraged me with their desire to assist those in need. Next year - $100,000! Why not?

I thank all the pastors, lay leaders, volunteers and ticket buyers for getting involved in the comedy for missions tour. Thanks for your prayers and thanks for your support.

Blessings -

Jerry

...waiting on a few...

Last night - August 2, 2009 was the final in the 31 Shows tour. West McKinley Assembly of God broke out the new sanctuary. Wow! it still had that new building smell. They raised a significant amount last night. Thanks to Pastor Grams and the team for all of their hard work. They pushed the total number to just a bit of $26,000! I know. What a blessing. There are still two churches that I have not received their sum as of today, but I know the check(s) are in the mail.

I am a changed man after this month. I have seen the value in using what God has given each of us...using it for His kingdom. I am already planning for next year...maybe late spring.

Once the final total is in, I will give everyone a shout out. I am getting started on editing the documentary tonight.

One More To Go

It is Saturday August1, 2009 and tomorrow will be the final show in the 31 Shows Missions Tour. Wow, it seems like it was all a blur. I won't have the final totals until a few more checks are in this week, but I am hopeful that the number is significant enough to encourage those who participated as well as to tip those from the sidelines to curious. Once the documentary is finished I will get it to all of you.

Thanks Pastor Dave Macer for letting me stay with the family on Friday the 7th. If you're looking for a golf buddy he's your man.

Stuart Bond and his church team made me want to move to Thousand Oaks. It's nice out there. Plus, he did spring for coffee.

Again, much thanks to Brenda and her team at Yosemite church. They put on a first class event and managed to make a rather hot summer evening the place to be in their community. They led with a jazz band. Four of the shows had jazz as the openers - it worked really well. Thanks to God for such talented and willing musicians.

The high school kids at Redwood Christian Camp in Santa Cruz could not have been a better audience. I was a little skeptical about doing a full show for teenagers, but they proved to be a thought provoking enthusiastic bunch. Jeff Baucham made Rocket and I feel right at home. If we didn't have to get back the next day, we would have stayed for the rest of the camp. god was moving in those mountains with those young adults.

Dru and the men at Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara well it was just the most amazing evening of worship. The band really connected with the men and all seemed to be pouring their hearts out for the Lord through the songs. I was so moved and just felt so connected to the guys I had just met. They are doing some amazing things with their mens ministry. Thanks Dru.

I wll have a few final thoughts after tomorrow. God bless you all.

Bring it on!

Sun Grove Church in Elk Grove...wow! We raised just about $3700! They really blessed this missions tour with their generosity and giving hearts. Pastor Dave Flaig worked with us down here at Shepherd and when he left a few months ago we were sad to see him go. But God has put him in a dynamic and exciting church.

The show at The Rock Church was awesome. Brandon Young who started the comedy ministry over there was hilarious. Next year we go even bigger with The Rock.

This weekend we hit the home stretch. 10 shows in 13 days. I am stoked. Pray that this message for missions hits em hard and they feel compelled to give.

This project is such a huge blessing.

July 4 2009

Rocket and I are in Placerville, Ca. Yeah, I know. We went to the Pollack Pines 4th of July parade. It was totally cool and lasted 12 minutes. Great shows in Santa Barbara and Reno. Tonight Cold Springs Church and tomorrow Son Grove Church in Elk Grove. Ca. I am continually amazed and awed as to God's work in my life. If you would have told me 5 years ago I would be doing this I would have not believed it. Using what God has given each and every one of us for the kingdom is a pleasing aroma to the Lord. He delights in our success. He wants us to be happy. He glows when we glorify Him. And he makes it so easy!
